PARENTS OF BAYELSA COUNCIL CHAIRMAN KIDNAP

                                                                              

Mr. Festus Ibegu and Mrs. Ebiye Ibegu, parents of the Chairman of Ogbia Local Government Council of Bayelsa State, Mr. Richard Ibegu have been abducted. They were kidnapped by three gunmen last Sunday night at about 9:19 PM at their residence while relaxing at home. The gunmen invaded the residence of their captives by shooting indiscriminately into the air in order to scare away people before they whisked away their victims in a speed boat. It was learnt that they escaped through Oloibiri water ways to an unknown destination. It was also learnt that the abductors may have abducted their victims for a ransom. Meanwhile, no group has claimed responsibility for the abduction of the couple whose whereabouts are still unknown. The upsurge of kidnap of parents and relatives of political office holders, have brought restlessness and tension to Bayelsa State which is also President Jonathan home state.
