GOVERNOR SULLIVAN CHIME RETURNS FROM FOREIGN HOSPITAL

Enugu State Governor Sullivan Chime returned to the country today after spending four months in a foreign hospital. It was learnt that Governor Chime arrived Abuja in the early hours of Thursday aboard British Airways flight and went to the Enugu State Governor’s Lodge in the Federal Capital Territory. Governor Chime left the country in September, 2012 for a hospital in London. Mr. Akpabio, Mr. Suswan and Mr. Ameachi, governors of Akwa Ibom, Benue and Rivers states, respectively had visited the sick governor in a London hospital last week. When the three governors returned to the country last Friday, Mr. Akpabio, said Governor Sullivan Chime who is receiving treatment abroad, would return home within 10 days.
Last December, some newspapers had reported that the governor had died in an Indian hospital after a protracted illness. A statement by the Enugu State Commissioner for Information, Chucks Ugwuoke, said that the report of the governor’s death was unfounded and malicious.
