POPE BENEDICT XVI FINALLY BOWS OUT



Pope Benedict XVI finally bows out of office on 28 February 2013.The Pope has earlier announced his resignation on 11 February giving reason for his decision on his failing health due to old age. The selection of his successor will begin on 20 March 2013. Benedict will continue to serve the Catholic Church “through a life dedicated to prayer”. Benedict will henceforth bear the title of “Pope Emeritus” and will keep wearing his white cassock without the mozzetta. He will not also wear the red papal shoes but will wear a pair of brown shoes. He will destroy the Ring of Fisherman and lead seal of the Pontificate. Pope Emeritus Benedict will now reside in the Papal Palace in Castel Gandolfo. The Vatican Gendarmie becomes his personal security.
