Aircraft conveying the coffin of Olusegun Agagu crashes

An aircraft carrying the coffin of former Governor of Ondo State, Chief Olusegun Agagu has crashed near the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos. The aircraft with registration number 5N BJY 59 belonging to Association Airline, also had  four crew and 16 passengers on board and was conveying the corpse to Ondo State for burial when the accident occurred as soon as it took off from the airport. It was confirmed that 14 persons died while 6 persons survived the accident and are currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in Lagos. However, it was revealed that the casket containing the corpse was intact. It was also revealed that as soon as the plane took off from the airport, the pilot discovered that the plane developed an engine fault but the pilot could not maneuver the plane to land before it crashed.
