Former Secretary to the Edo State
Government, Mr. Osagie Ize-Iyamu has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) governorship candidate for the September 10, 2016 governorship election
in Edo State. He won the primaries having scored 584 votes to beat his closest
rival, Mr. Matthew Iduoriyekemwen who polled 98 votes while Mr. Solomon Edibiri
secured 38 votes. The primaries took place on Monday at the Lawn Tennis Court
of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
